Awww... lol... a post exchange is where you and another person that is the admin of the other board... join eachother's board and make x amount of posts... it helps get both forums active and advertised...

Anyways, yeah I knew what it was or I wouldn't have said anything... lol... But I do like to read up on what other forums are doing to be active and that is one of the things... there are also board hops too... Glad to know that you knew about what I was talking about...

I think there are three main things to getting members on your forum:
Appearance Having a nice skin, good graphics, etc. are very important. Lots of people don't join sites that use the Proboards default skin because it makes it seem like the admin put no work into the forum. Its boring and uninteresting; there's nothing catchy about white and light blue. But then again, you can go overboard trying to make your forum pretty.
Content Having too many boards, not enough boards, sloppy spelling/chatspeak, things like that drive potential members away. Having 40 boards is never good; but neither is having two. It's all about the balance. :]
Attitude If you see a board where the admin is always yelling at people, going ban-crazy, ignoring new members, etc., are you going to join? It's important to be polite to members, or at least don't yell at them in the c-box where everybody can see the fight. Don't ban people for breaking one rule; it's stupid and soon you won't have any members left to ban.
