ok binary is a system that uses 2 different numbers 0 and 1 (on and off) each place is a multiple of 2 instead of the normal 10 that we use. so if you have 5 numbers you have a 1's place a 2's place a 4's place a 8's place and a 16's place. 0 means that place is off 1 means that place is on 1 0 1 1 0 you then add up the numbers. since we have 5 numbers we have up to a 16's place thus above would be 16+4+2 or 22. If we had 6 numbers the far left one would be a 32's place. 1 0 1 0 1 1 thus this number is 32 + 8 + 2 + 1 or 43 using this method it is possible to count to 31 on one hand or 1,024 on both hands. also check this item out www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/watches/6a17/do you understand binary now 11 would be 1011 If I did double number in binary it would go 1 10 100 1000 10000 and so on Im a nerd
