Hey guys! I've finally come out with a V2 for the site and I've put a ton of time into it. Please give me suggestions on how to make even the littlest things on the skin better for all members to come. Thank you in advance!! worlddestiny.proboards55.com/index.cgi

First of all, I can tell you put a lot of effort into this, so I'm going to do my best to be as helpful as possible to you. Boards/Categories/Content:I think you did an excellent job with the boards. There are too many or two little and they're well organized. You've got good roleplays and a general board to hang out and such. Good stuff. One suggestion I could make would merely be on the highlight color. Darken the board highlight color so that there is a contrast. People tend to feel more.... comfortable and even more intrigued when they visually confirm that they've highlighted something. It makes it seem more substantial. Ranking: 9/10 ----------------------------------------------- GraphicsExcellent job with the top banner, really. It's good quality and has a stand out kind of feel to it. You know, it might look even better if it didn't meld to the color scheme. You should try out the image in its regular colors and not the yellow. Even making it the light blue offset color would look really good. The banner would stand out a lot more and look really professional instead of blending into the background. Also, it wouldn't hurt to put another image in the welcome table... such as underneath the staff list. Just to add some color and appeal. Ranking: 7.5/10 ---------------------------------------------- Coding:The coding is well done and very clean cut. The categories and general organization of the code is very well done. Peoplecould learn from you. Ranking: 10/10 --------------------------------------------- Skin:Like I said, the colors and such are very clean and organized, but they're bordering on bland due to the lack of contrast or color. Light blue, as you've noticed, would do well alongside your main color. As would reds. Ranking: 8/10 ---------------------------------------------- Overall:Your site is looking really good. As a rater and a forum owner, I'm happy to see one with such potential. If you make the banner more colorful and don't keep it the color of the background, along with some of my other suggestions, it will look exquisite. Ranking: 8.5/10

This version of the forum has clearly taken a long time to make, the way everything fits together shows a strong attention to small details. The most noticable thing at first is the skin and images, so I will begin with that: Skin and graphics: Immedietly I am drawn to the main banner, which I must say is a fantastic piece of work! It is often difficult to get the balance in colour, light and dark, right in a banner but on this one the lettering really stands out clearly but does not take away from the picture behind. One thought I had though is that the character images on either side do not stand out as much as they would if they were in different colours to the rest of the banner, but never the less the current look is certainly effective. You said not to mention the info table but just one thing , I like the affiliates going along the bottom, but I don't think the split with the affiliate for your site works well, I would put that above if possible in the new design. The blue on yellow look is also effective around the forum as you have obviously realised but the yellow is around rather too much and particularly with the header and footer images looks a little bland. The new topic icons are nice but again don't stand out too well. Try darkening the board highlight colour to make it clearer. Ranking: [glow=orange,2,300]7.5/10[/glow] ----------------------------------------------- Coding: The coding has been done very well, everything is very organised and central, boards and categories are split up effectively. Its good to see code was kept to what you know, its always a shame when people try over-complicated code and up making it confusing- nice work! Unfortunatly, by the same token, it also shows a slight lack of inventivity, perhaps some more exciting code (combined with images) to vary the layout in particular role-play boards would be possible and certainly eye-catching! Ranking: [glow=orange,2,300]8/10[/glow] ----------------------------------------------- Boards/Categories/Content: The boards look very organized however in some of the worlds there are not many posts, try putting some more boards as sub-boards to make it look like there are more posts to begin with. The sight is so tidy and well orderd that I really can't pick any faults . The role-plays look interesting and a general chat area is always good for building post count. Ranking: [glow=orange,2,300]8.5/10[/glow] ----------------------------------------------- OverallThe site has a lot of potential to become very active, the general way that it is put together works shows a good skill for administering. The site's organised layout and exciting theme means that with only a few minor changes the forum could attract alot of members. Overall Ranking: [glow=LimeGreen,2,300]8/10[/glow]

Thank you so much for the excellent rates you guys! I'm sorry that I didn't see them sooner... I will use all of your suggestions and post back when the proper changes have been made. I do have a question though, for Jm3z. For a more interesting code? I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this. Chirs is making me a very nice looking 'custom post' area code, so that'll look more original. Do you want me to focus more on the main page coding or codes throughout the board? I would have a custom info center, but with all the codes I have, it slows down my forum terribly... Thanks again guys and I will get right to work!

So sorry for not replying, I have only just spotted this thread. As far as more exciting code; in order to make the forum look more unique, possibly in certain boards and sub-boards modifying the layout and using images, for example in a similar way to the INDEX here. You could use images for the different regions where the role-play takes place (for example). I like the improvements that have been made very much, the banner and signature are very eye-catching, nice-work! Jm3z
